Procedural tree growth models light-driven branching
A procedural tree-growth implementation based on Palubicki et al.’s 2009 self-organizing tree model simulates growth season by season. Buds estimate light using a voxel shadow grid, share growth resources through the branching structure, and produce shoots when they receive enough; shaded branches can be shed. Growth direction, bud arrangement, and resource allocation shape the crown. The resulting skeleton is converted into bark and foliage meshes, with simplified cards and impostors for distant rendering.
NVIDIA details RTX Spark rendering and AI character tools
NVIDIA’s RTX Spark Windows PC platform combines a Blackwell RTX GPU, Grace CPU and up to 128 GB of unified memory, with support for DLSS 5, RTX Kit and Nsight tools. The DLSS 4.5 Unreal Engine plugin version 8.9.0 adds Windows on Arm support for Unreal Engine 5.8. Nemotron 3.5 Bolt E4B 4GB is available through the In-Game Inferencing SDK for local AI characters. MotionBricks adds human-motion research models and export tools; its demonstrated Unreal Engine integration is not included in the release.

Automating lighting bakes across scenes with Unity CLI
Unity demonstrates a Unity CLI workflow that uses custom C# commands to bake lighting across three scenes, capture saved camera views and generate HTML contact sheets. The example stores camera transforms in ScriptableObject assets, validates inputs before starting and runs bakes in the background with status checks. It uses an open local editor and the machine’s GPU; Unity says it does not replace build-server baking. Example scripts are available for URP projects.
UniBuilder adds in-editor 3D modeling tools to Godot 4
UniBuilder is a Godot 4 add-on for creating level blockouts and 3D models inside the editor, with functionality similar to Unity’s ProBuilder. It includes editable shapes, vertex, edge and face editing, UV tools, CSG booleans, automatic collision generation and OBJ/MTL or glTF export. Written in GDScript, it requires no C# or .NET. A nearly fully functional demo is available on itch.io, alongside the full version for a one-time purchase of US$24.99.
ActionForge offers free browser-based character rigging and animation editing
ActionForge is a free browser-based character animation tool offering auto-rigging, retargeting, body-part animation layering, live inverse kinematics and keyframe editing. The article says models and animations are processed locally without server uploads. Its Motion Lab generates eight-direction movement sets from a single walk or run cycle, and a built-in library provides CC0 animations. It supports FBX and GLB import and export, with export presets for Unreal Engine 4/5, Unity, Godot and Blender, plus offline use and local project storage.

Silicon Architect demo prioritized onboarding and 10-minute retention
BiteMe Games describes prioritizing onboarding over precise balance in Silicon Architect’s Steam demo, tracking how many players stayed at least 10 minutes. Observing roughly 15 in-person playtesters prompted faster initial progression and clearer upgrade icons. The retention measure reached 92% before Steam Next Fest, though the creator acknowledges that its relationship to success may be correlational. Players criticized the demo as too easy and lackluster; further balancing is planned ahead of the full game’s planned January 2027 release.
