Insider Gaming Showcase: Trailers, Funding Leads, and 1M Wishlists
Insider Gaming is launching a free showcase built to help developers land funding, publishers, and players. The event will spotlight back-to-back game trailers and early-stage concepts with no filler segments. After the show, devs get video interviews, written coverage, and inclusion in a dossier sent directly to investors, VCs, and publishers—aiming for 1M+ new wishlists across all titles. The first showcase airs May 28, with submissions open until March 20.
Level Up Skills and Art: Ultimate Game Dev & JRO 3D Bundles
Two new Humble Bundles are targeting game creators from both sides: skills and assets. The Ultimate Game Development Courses bundle offers multi-tier training in Blender, Unreal Engine 5, Unity 2D, pixel art, and Godot 2D/3D, all redeemed through Skillademia. The JRO 3D Artist Tools bundle on Gumroad delivers huge hard-surface kitbash sets, brushes, alphas, smart materials, decals, and reference packs. An embedded YouTube video walks through the contents and how they complement the ongoing Zenva “Learn Godot in 2026” bundle.

Massive UEFN Prefab Upgrade: Faster Scene Graph Workflows and Lumen Previews
Epic’s latest “Creating in Fortnite” stream unveils a big round of UEFN prefab and Scene Graph improvements aimed at speeding up real production work. Creators get live drag-and-drop previews, a smarter prefab outliner and details panel with multi-select, and edit-in-place that behaves much more like Level Instances. Lumen now runs directly in the prefab editor for accurate lighting previews. The team also teases one-file-per-entity-per-prefab, stronger override tooling, and future support for streaming, data layers, and HLODs.

Layered Parallax Magic: Inside Demons Revival’s 3D-Looking 2D Cities
The creators of Demons Revival reveal how they make their 2D demonic cities look almost 3D. By stacking building sprites into multiple layers and using a perspective camera with a mostly fixed Y position, they create a strong parallax effect that sells depth. To hide issues like floating props or odd offsets, they fine-tune individual objects’ Y positions. The team regularly shares these behind-the-scenes insights and offers a playable Windows build.
Dark Patterns, Loot Boxes and AI: The New Legal Minefield for Games
2026 is the year game regulation stops being abstract and starts hitting specific features you ship. Games lawyer Anna Poulter-Jones breaks down six hot zones—dark patterns, UI prompts, loot boxes, virtual currencies, player comms, and AI-generated content—and shows how new UK and EU rules are reshaping each. From mandatory loot box disclosure to deepfake labelling and stricter child protections, compliance is becoming a core design constraint. The piece closes with concrete “what to do” checklists for studios.
